On Sunday, December 14th ATO welcomed honor initiate Thomas Steve Gean into the Theta Eta Alumni Association. Thomas holds a Bachelor's in Science in Accounting from the University of North Alabama. He is currently the Director of Materials Management at Savannah Family Food Company, a Deacon at Crosspoint Church of Christ and a Board Member of the Christian Student Center at UNA. Thomas is also the father of ATO brother Tyler Gean.

Graduation will be held on Friday, December 12th, 2008 at 7:00pm at Flower's Hall.

On Saturday, December 13th 2008 ATO will be hosting the first Alumni/Undergraduate work day at the ATO House. This event will be a part of the Fall 2008 Pledge Class Help Week and will serve as an opportunity to work on the house while also getting to know some of the new initiates. The current schedule is to get started at 8:30am and work until lunch time. All alumni are encouraged to attend if they are able.

After many long weeks of lead changes, Theta Eta March Madness comes to a close with only one man standing in first place. Florida makes history as they win back-to-back championships, and Brother Chris “The Invincible One” Clark is the champion of champions in ATO Bracketology. The rest of the Top 10 is as follows:

On April 4th, 2007 the Theta Eta Educational Endowment was approved by the ATO Foundation. Once the account reaches $10,000, 5% of the annual interest gained will be made available for educational and facility grants or scholarships to benefit the chapter and initiated or uninitiated members of the Theta Eta chapter of Alpha Tau Omega at the University of North Alabama. If ever necessary, the Endowment may also be used during the re-colonizing or re-chartering of the chapter.

Alumni Weekend is shaping up to be a great event at Theta Eta this year. The chapter emailed registration forms during the last week of March so hopefully everyone has received the details of the event by now. If you plan on attending the Valley Landing Golf Tournament and BBQ Dinner at the ATO House on April 28th, please return the registration form to Brandon Dingler along with your payment registration as soon as possible. While it is possible to pay for the tournament upon arrival on April 28th, it is highly encouraged to prepay in order to cover the cost for reserving the course.

Dr. Jack Sellers retirement party will be on Monday, April 23 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm in the Guillot University Center Loft. Dr. Sellers was an ATO at Birmingham Southern and was part of the original group that founded Theta Eta in 1974.

Congratulations to Brother Sellers on his dedication and service to both the University of North Alabama and Alpha Tau Omega.
