The meeting was held to discuss the concerns brought forward by Alpha Tau Omega with regards to the University's response to the fraternity's report of the gun shooting incident near their house on September 16, 2007.

1. University (Student Affairs and Physical Plant) will work with Florence City Councilman, Sam Pendleton, to discuss the possibility of cutting down the wooded area located across from Alpha Tau Omega and Sigma Chi houses.
2. University (Student Affairs, Public Safety, and Physical Plant) will work with the City to check on the status of the vacant house located behind the Alpha Tau Omega house. Is it privately owned or abandoned? Does it violate City ordinance? If so, can it be torn down?
3. University (Student Affairs and Physical Plant) will work with the City to get the alley way cleared of overgrown trees and shrubbery.
4. Student Life will notify UNA Public Safety of major events or functions taking place in and around Greek Row. Public Safety will in turn notify Florence Police Department to increase patrolling in the Greek Row area when heavy events are occurring.
5. Student Life will research whether there is a local Crime Watch in the area. If not, Student Life can begin discussion with the Inter-fraternity Council to potentially start a Crime Watch for the area.
6. The proposed Intramural Field plan will bring additional lighting to the area.
7. Office of Student Life can work with Alpha Tau Omega to coordinate shuttle buses for Caffeine High.
8. Office of Student Life will work with Public Safety and Inter-fraternity Council to do educational training on emergency action plans. Education will also be provided to chapters on how to report safety and security issues along with Public Safety protocol.
9. The University recommends that Alpha Tau Omega consider getting an alarm system.
10. Alpha Tau Omega may want to consider moving to another location and/or renting some other available University property to help address safety issues.
11. The University completed a walkthrough of the Alpha Tau Omega house prior to this meeting on October 24. Immediate items of security concerns will be addressed including lighting and fixing the garage door.
University agrees to do a follow up meeting no later than February 2008 with Alpha Tau Omega to ensure these items are being followed through.
